Bible is a collection of old and new testaments along with sacred scriptures of God and Jesus Christ. It plays an important role in Christianity by giving the guidelines for following the path of God. It teaches people how to make better choices in life by elaborating examples of the prophets.
Take a look at three interesting Bible stories that give important life lessons:
Flood And Noah’s Ark
This story symbolizes God’s punishment of evil and sins among humanity. The story starts when God looks down on Earth and sees evil among the human race, except in a man called Noah, who shows devotion and kindness. Seeing this situation, God decides to punish everyone except Noah.
As mentioned in Genesis: 8-20, God instructed him to build a three-story ship with big rooms; Noah began to build the ship without doubting God’s intention. People laughed and mocked him, but he was determined to finish the task.
After the boat was built, God ordered Noah to take different species of animals and birds. Years passed, and a flood crisis occurred; Noah and his family and the animals were the sole survivors.
The moral of the story is that evil will be around you, but it’s up to you to choose the right path.
The Tale Of David And Goliath
In the early eleventh century B.C, a war broke down between Israel and Philistine. A man named Goliath represented Philistine; he was known to be the strongest in the whole of the Middle East. Due to fear, no one challenged him for forty days.
Then a shepherd named David stepped into the battlefield with only his slingshot as a weapon. As the audience ridiculed him, he took the chance and fired a sharp stone at Goliath’s forehead and slew him with his sword.
The moral of the story is that no matter how much you have, just have faith in God and will surely succeed.
Samson And The Betrayal Of Delilah
Philistine’s reign was at its peak, as they were conquering neighboring lands. Soon they came across Nazarite; they tried to capture the area but failed. The reason was a man named Samson, known for his physical strength. The king of Philistine decided to send an agent to seduce Samson to know his weakness. Cunning Delilah lured Samson into her love trap, and one day he told her about how his hair is the source of his strength.
According to the Book of Judges, on the same night, Delilah shaved his head in his sleep, and he was held prisoner by the Philistines. Ignoring the fact that hair grows back, the king and his men celebrated for thirty days. One day, Samson was summoned to the Hall of Faith, where the whole city gathered and mocked him; little did they know his hair grew back, and he had regained his powers.
The moment Samson was put in chains supported by the hall’s pillars, he started pulling them, resulting in the collapse of the entire Hall, killing everyone in it.
The moral of the story is there will be some hard times in life, but it is important to have faith in God, and he will guide you to your destiny.
