1. Everyone Needs Forgiveness
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23)
Let’s think about forgiveness spiritually; we, humans, were born with original sin. It was Jesus who died on the cross for our sins, offering us forgiveness. It’s very easy to say or do things that hurt people around us, but it’s essential to ask for forgiveness and offer it to those who ask. 2. You Should Forgive Others Even If They Don’t Ask
Most of the time, we feel we’re entitled to an apology, after which we consider forgiving. While saying sorry might be the correct thing to do, it’s important to remember that the Bible doesn’t require an apology for forgiveness. God encourages you to initiate it, no matter what the other person might do. Go to your friend or family and talk to them about what’s bothering you.
“If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother” (Matthew 18: 15).
This will help you forgive them from your heart and carry on with your life without an ounce of hurt or guilt.
3. Not Forgiving Comes with Consequences
Forgiveness is an important topic in the Bible. Choosing not to forgive someone goes against the commandments of loving your neighbor as yourself. When it’s tough to forgive, think about whether you would forgive yourself in that situation. Try not to be too hard on others around you, and always focus on being the bigger person in every situation.

You might’ve heard the saying ‘forgive and forget,’ but some situations can be impossible to remove from your memory. In times like this, choose to love the person who has wronged you, as this will help change your attitude and memories linked to them.
